2012 Reunion Location!!!

Today I went out and scouted out the location that Marcia helped me find for the reunion. It is an awesome location...it is about 75 minutes from our house...2 hours from the DFW airport. I have attached the pictures that I took...I didn't get pictures of all the cabin types...but I will explain them and there is a map of the facility at the very bottom.

Cabin Types:

Loft: sleeps 11 - there are 2 queen beds, and 3 single beds in the main area of the loft...there is also a separate bedroom with a King bed and a daybed with a trundle. (Full refrigerator and kitchenette)

Large house: sleeps 10 - 4 full beds and 2 single beds (spread over 3 bedrooms) (Full Kitchen)

5 Duplexes: sleeps up to five - 2 full beds and a futon (kitchenette)

3 Singles: sleeps 2 - Queen bed (small kitchenette)

The loft is located over the Lodge...we will have the whole place to ourselves...it is very similar to Kentucky with a few MAJOR differences...the cabins are all close together and we will be there without any other guests.

Future Reunions...PLEASE VOTE!

After talking to Mom and Dad tonight I wanted to put out an option that Dad suggested in order to avoid the massive search in the future for locations and all the other complications that come with changing the location of the reunion every time.

What would people think of making all future reunions (after 2012) in Utah (preferably at a lake) at a campground where people would have lots of choices (tent camping, RV's, hotels).

One benefit to doing this would be bringing down the cost of the 2012 reunion. We currently have money in the Reunion Fund that we can put towards this upcoming reunion if we choose to make all future reunions in Utah at a campground location which would make it unnecessary to keep a fund for deposits for future reunions.

Here are the options: (Please comment with your family choice)

Choice A: Make all future reunions in Utah...use the current Reunion Fund for the 2012 Reunion...

Cost for the Reunion in 2012 would be approximately as follows:

Kim, Becky, Mom & Dad - $1000.00
Jenni, Scott, Larry, Paul, Lynette, Kent - $335.00

Michelle & Keith - $167.50

Choice B: Continue what we've done the last 3 reunions (the great location search, different people traveling and dividing the cost based on how far people have to travel)

Cost for the Reunion in 2012 would be approximately as follows:

Kim, Becky, Mom & Dad - 1,230.00

Jenni, Scott, Larry, Paul, Lynette, Kent - $565.00

Michelle & Keith - $282.50

The way I got the difference in cost between the two options was taking the current fund: $2,500 and spreading it equally among the family if we choose Option B.

UPDATE...(Possible Reunion Location)

It looks like from what we've found the reunion is going to have to be July 8-12...to go the week of the Fourth of July makes it MUCH more expensive! I am driving out to a location tomorrow that is available the dates we need it...check out the website... http://littlerockylodge.com/
